Regardless of how this conflict ends, if an Iranian Air Force of any relevancy exists after it, it is very unlikely to include the F-14.

i think less than 3 were still able to fly
they ran out of parts long ago and some chaps were even caught "getting" parts from the desert bone yard in the U.S. a while back
the one video showing 2 getting hit were very clear they were not fueled or active, but now just boron splinters and rivet pieces :ROFLMAO:

I love Tomcats and would hate to see one destroyed. But there a few that need to be melted.
 
I would not argue against the concept of blowing Iran off the map, except to say that there is likely a significant population of Iranians that do not support their own government (many millions), and they do not necessarily deserve to die. Iran in the days of the Shah had women wearing miniskirts to town and bikinis at the beach, and was a staunch US ally. I don't want to confuse the Sharia-law muslims (the mullahs-in-control as some might say) with a large population of folks maybe not so different than us. Iran is a large country. This is a terribly complicated situation. I pity those in charge having to make these decisions. What a mess.

Agreed. There is civil unrest due to the heavy handedness of the regime but they are kept under the thumb. I have been thinking that taking out some of the leadership might encourage a counter revolution

Somebody is wrong. If the Iranians were in fact on the brink of having operational nuclear weapons, then essentially everything DCI Gabbard said in March was wrong, and the entire American Intelligence Community missed the mark widely on Iran’s nuclear weapons program. If Gabbard is right, then the Israelis are either lost in a labyrinth of lies or they are deliberately misleading us and the world.

I can speak of this first hand although my experience is from 2008 to 2013. Tulsi was given an assessment which has a history going back to 2007. My agency basically operated a sliding scale with the time to build a bomb in six months. Then when six months passed, it was another six months and so forth. Two major things precluded an honest assessment: Obama's nuclear deal...er bribe, and the fact we were in Iraq. We couldn't give cause for us or the IDF to take action. For one thing, we controlled the airspace of Iraq and we weren't going to let the IAF use it. I can't begin to describe the political ins/outs and the backstabbing involved.

As to Tulsi, I had my misgivings about her from the beginning. Not because she is dishonest or scheming, etc., but because she is naive

Had a glitch. Meant to say she is naive and will get played by the 17 or so agencies under the ODNI umbrella. Just because she was in the ARNG, was a congress critter, and made a trip to Syria does not give her the acumen to smell a home grown rat. I wanted Ric Grenell to assume the post again. IMO, the ODNO needs to be disbanded, the IC budget reduced, and agencies refocused, realigned or eliminated.
