It has been too cold to practice

I Confess I have gone soft in my old age. The cold is keeping me in the house. I have not been out to my range to shoot for 2 weeks. I am saving money on ammo, but what am I going to do if accosted by brigands and freebooters as I wander about? How could I overcome the embarrassment of errant hits on evildoers? I would be subject to ridicule from my deputy friends and my posse. I must make amends. I'm gonna need more practice ammo when the weather breaks. Or maybe I should start carrying the Model 97 in the truck to improve my chances.....

Good for you! I love keeping the old workhorse in the game. I mainly shoot an O/U in skeet, but I have shot straights on the skeet field with my 97, when I could remember to rack it on the doubles!

I'm sure you'll be absolutely devastating should any ne'er-do-wells want to stir up a row.

Lately I've been taking advantage of my basement laser range. Sometimes once a week at my indoor range isn't enough. But I'll be glad when it warms up. one of my New Year resolutions is to hit an outdoor range more often.

Yep? Way too cold. Yesterday woke to -11° and today woke to -8°, so it is warming up. 🤣🤣🤣 Between the snow and the cold the grandkids haven't been to school all week. The high today is 16° which isn't too bad for a short range trip but the breeze usually blows right up your back, so that makes it a shorter trip.

The cold has been flaring up the arthritis in my trigger finger (sounds like a good excuse to me lol). So keeping KSG at the ready is in order, I think it holds 23 rounds of 1 3/4 shells.

I've been contemplating the Mantis Laser Academy and setting up a little range in the bsmt but that hasn't happened yet.
