I was taught the Weaver stance in my first academy and taught it to hundreds of others in subsequent years. The technique is especially helpful in managing recoil in magnum handguns in addition to vastly improving overall marksmanship.

Cooper was the guru and changed handgun shooting forever. But he was also stubborn and very opinionated. I didn't agree with everything he said.

Cooper was pretty hard nosed, but he knew his stuff, and he could certainly shoot. I trust his opinions far more than most “gun writers, est those of thee last couple decades.. Accuracy IS the single most important thing (after actually having a gun with you).
