Jesse Jackson passes

His half brother did time with the Federal Bureau of Prisons where i did my career. He was tied in with the El Rukins when Bush sr was in office he is out now.

Jackson would visit a couple times a year and he was always personable his buddy guards not so much. They had issue that they couldn’t carry inside the wire.

His half brother was a true convict no issues with staff sis his legal battle but had a lot of respect and quashed a lot of issues

We should pray God will comfort those grieving at his passing, regardless of their political leanings.

There's plenty of time and opportunity to debate his contributions to society later. (Yes, I do have an opinion on that; it's not particularly favorable.)
Yep. This is a good time to remember the good qualities in a man. It took me a bit of time to get there, and it shouldn't have. That's my shortcoming, not his.

Back in the mid 70s, he came to my High School (the first year they started bussing White kids into the inner city). We had a mandatory assembly and he started his BS, telling the kids to chant and raising a fist in the air "I am somebody. You cant hold me down". We nearly had a riot. The tensions were already high and he stirred them up. It was scary as sheeeet.

Maaaaybe it was meant to be motivational but it came out as enticing a RIOT. For the rest of the day (and longer) the tension could be cut with a knife, kids that didnt look like me screaming in the halls and waving their fists.

I wont say Im glad hes dead but I am glad I wasnt forced to attend one of his riots again

While I disagree with his politics, and think he was a grifter who took advantage of his association with Reverend Martin Luther King, Jr., I am sorry for his family's loss, and hope God will forgive him of his sins in this life. But, that is between him and God. Not me, God and him.
