I realize this is just a start but I hope and pray this leads to the end of Christians being killed by Islamic terrorists in Nigeria.

Boko Haram was a minor group of vicious Jihadis in 2002. They were known for taking young boys from their homes and making them fighters. They grew into a pretty potent terrorist organization. A testament for squashing these small cells before they can develop. But of course we had no Africom until about 2008 and were busy elsewhere while they were growing.

At one point, the largest US investment in oil infrastructure outside the US was the offshore rigs in Nigeria. The Navy presence was fairly substantial, although not sure what it's like now. Still, be wary of any emails from Nigerian princes.

The sad thing is that Group A killing Group B is the order of the day in many African countries and until something is done to bring the standard of living up for everyone and drive corruption out of government it will never change. But sadly, this is an insurmountable task. Killing 175 “terrorists” is a band aid.

Hi,

Yes, there is lots of evil in this world. A family in my church came from Nigeria a little over 10 years ago. Even then, Gabe says they were burning churches and killing entire villages of Christians. We place our hope in John 16:33. I'll be having lunch with Gabe today.

Have a good friend who is a priest from Nigeria. Super nice guy. Met his parents when they were here for a visit. Lovely people. Last December his brother (late 30’s, married, two kids) was working on his farm and got grabbed by Boka Haram and “disappeared”. They presume he’s dead but have no hope of ever seeing him again or even knowing what happened to him and where his body is. Pretty darn horrible stuff!
