What are some guns/platforms that are fun to modify other than Glocks and ARs? Just looking for some ideas to kick around.

As far as application, none in particular just was to tinker

Sig P320. The whole modular system has led to infinite combinations. Plus there is a robust aftermarket for the P320 with slides, grip modules, triggers etc, and Robert Burke the Sig Armorer can do magic with all of the Sigs.

The is only so much you can do to bolt action and shotguns. Leverguns are somewhat limited also. I've got nada!

How about Remington 870 or Ruger 10/22?

It depends on what you mean by modify. If you generally mean change the furniture, you can do a lot with an 870 or a Mossberg 500. There's some stuff you can do to handguns, but not a lot other than sights/optics and triggers.

I will flat out not change the internal functioning mechanism’s of any of my guns and although I’ve added accessories to my long guns the only added accessory I’ll be adding to a handgun will be a Holosun to my 10mm Elite compact.

Look into the evolution of race guns and other competitive guns like revolvers in the 70s and 80s, they made all sorts of mods you can try. I saw rifle barrels and Bomar pistol ribs put on competitive revolvers back then.

i am about to find out, when the stainless steel trigger, and trigger spring, and hammer D spring and ss guide rod come for my new Beretta 92FS

ain't never took apart/replaced anything but Glocks up to now, and maybe several MSH's for many of my 1911's.
