Just spreading the word

Good afternoon everyone! Just swinging in to let people know about an app that I found a couple months ago. I'm not sure how widely known it is, but it's been pretty cool for me. As the old adage goes, "you want to be armed enough to arm your block when SHTF" and when I got my FFL a few months ago, I received a "personal firearms record", but like most of us, I had already outgrown the half dozen lines that are printed. So, I started looking at various options to keep records of my personal firearms, separate from the ones I have for sale at the shop.

Enter stage left: Ghostpoint Armory.

This app is a pretty cool app that allows you to add your firearms with boxes for make, model, serial number, nicknames (if you name yours like you name your car), all the way down to date/location where you purchased it and how much you paid. It also allows you to input ammunition/medical/food/gear stockpiles as well as range sessions and storage locations, whether it's safes, cases, backpacks, etc. Once the information is input, it populates a graph showing your net worth from an investment standpoint based on the monetary amount you put as purchase cost for each item.

From the firearms page, you can go in and attach accessories (input into the app the same way), assign the firearm to a storage location, and log in maintenance from basic lubrication to the most detailed of cleanings and parts replacements.

From there, it breaks down your armory via "caliber insight" breaking down each firearm into groupings based on caliber as well as the associated ammunition. This allows you to see where you can improve your armory based on real-time mathematical data.

And, best of all...for those of you that dream of a zombie apocalypse, they have that too. They give you "combat bonuses" based on things like number of range sessions and practice, number of accessories, ammunition quantities, stockpiles, etc. and base it off 100 zombie encounters each day to calculate how long you would last...and they even give you a brutal assessment of your survivability to include how many days you would last and how many zombies you'd kill before you bite the dust.

Anyways, the app costs like $14.99 annually, and I think it's well worth it from an organizational standpoint. When I go to places like Cabela's, I always feel almost obligated to purchase something, at least a box of ammo. This app allows me to see at my finger tips exactly where I'm lacking. Pictures attached to show the app. Hope this helps, brothers and sisters.

I dunno. Aren’t zombies by definition “dead”? I worry a lot more about living predators than dead ones😏. I guess the cap’s ok, but you can track your stuff just as well with a $1.99 notebook (but hey, I’m old. I still don’t think this computer stuff is going to work out.😏
