Almost a year since the murder of Charlie Kirk and we are still in the preliminary hearing stage. Like C.K. or not, this is ridicules. OH, but if you think that's bad; We are still waiting for the trial of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, admitted master mind of 911, almost 25 (twenty-five!) years later.

One could argue if the individual has been incarcerated while waiting trial there is some degree of justice in that.

It certainly appears there is something wrong with a system that takes so long to bring the accused to trial. I thought there was a right to a speedy trial. That should go both ways; for the accused as well as the victim (or their family), and society.

IMO, the more public interest in a trial the longer these "show trials" can be. Almost as if the gov has a vested interest in prolonging the situation to demonstrate the (cough cough) justice system.
