Kamala Harris on Guns: Biden’s Pick for Vice President

All these discussions are on a very sensitive subject right now, all I know, this is a big threat to our 2nd amendment rights, it’s going to get worse as it gets closer to Election Day.
Probably. I'd say the best way for us to deal with it is to interact with anti-gunners in a friendly way. Bring them into our fold. Going to war just makes them dig in.

The media (all media in my opinion, both "liberal" and "conservative") have done an outstanding job in dividing our country by political party. In my lifetime, I have never seen so much animosity within our American ranks.

Ms. Harris probably isn't the most favorable politician for folks who believe in the Constitution and like the 2A, so we should consider her positions and cast our votes for whomever we feel best represents our views. Don't let the media succeed in its efforts to divide us into elephants and donkeys. :)

Well said....☝️☝️

Harris is insanely ambitious, and that should give anybody pause. She will say and do anything to get elected to a powerful position. Historically, the VP pick is a nothing slot. A "Just in case" post. A tie vote in the Senate?? Got that covered. Something happens to the President? Ditto. We have for the most part had healthy, long lived Presidents. No President ran for office under a cloud of age related issues, until now. Biden is one step away from assisted living. No one in their right mind believes a vote for Joe is a "Vote for Joe". It's for Harris. Not long after the election (if they win), Sleepy Joe will be shuffled off to Kokomo, Harris will be anointed by Chief Justice John Roberts, and Crazy Nancy will become VP. Sooo, back to the 2A fears. That will be just one precious right out of the entire Bill of Rights that we can kiss goodbye.

Regards,
Bill

We can talk nicely to the Dems, but do u really think they will change their minds on guns. I don't. Yes we can't go at them with blazing gun ,we have to do it with votes and that only good for 4 more years and then they will be back at it again and so on.

Well, I'm a Dem and I'm not here to take 2A away. There are a lot if people like me. I can also say I've taken people who "hate" guns out to try a .22 or a 9mm and they began to lose their fear/hatred. Being a reasonable person capable of a respectful conversation does makes difference. Don't write people off too quickly.

One of my cousins back in Montana is a life long Democrat. He grew up in Anaconda, and that town, along with Butte, were mining towns with a strong union and Democrat ties. He and I can still talk politics, but I always give him a little reminder. "Mike, I'm living on the Left Coast now. The Democrats out here are NOT the same Democrats that you are. They are full tilt Socialist crazies." He understands that much. At least most of our talk these days is about how the fly fishing is or the hunting season coming up. Good common ground.

Regards,
Bill

"...Going to war just makes them dig in."

Fortunately (for us), that works in both directions. I've not met one 2A supporter that has defected and "gone-over" to the anti-2A side, so we, the pro 2A side have been dug-in for quite awhile...and I'm sure will remain that way. My personal opinion on all of this naturally.

...and those are my final thoughts and statement(s) on this particular thread.

Democrats in the fly over states usually represent the views of the pro 2A in my own personal epxerience. The big liberal Coastal cities, plus including Austin, Tx, are the anti gun agenda. Its a numbers game. They have the population centers in the those cities, but don't represent the vast majority of other rural areas in their views. Its their sheer numbers of population that can turn a tide with the vote count. 95% of counties in a state can vote red, but the 2 counties with 70% of the population voting blue wins the race . Blue knows this. Its their end game to impose the version of utopia on the masses.

I found it interesting listening to Biden talk about his plans for when he and his VP get into office.
first he bashed President Trump saying every COVID-19 death was his fault 🤦‍♂️
then the classic
“when I’m in office we will work hard to come up with a solid plan to defeat the virus and put everyone back to work”

Umm isn’t that what President Trump is doing and having to fight the Democrats every step of the way??

I am totally sick and tired of the political BullS**t

Talking with my Dad, California residents are pro gun. It's the elected officials who vote according to the party platform.

It's also the Twitter and Facebook mobs. Politicians see the sheer volume of stuff those people throw out and make the mistake of thinking the mob is a significant percentage of the population. Fringe groups get way too much attention theses days because they are one ones that go on social media and run their mouths. People like us with jobs and lives tend to have better things to do than freak out because a white guy does the voice of an Indian character on a cartoon and are too savvy to believe Hillary ran a child sex ring out of a pizzeria basement. Whether it's the insufferable "woke" people or the Q-anon nuts, we'd all be better served if we recognized that those groups are not representative of the whole.

I can tell you, the folks here let their elected representatives have it if they feel that their concerns aren't being heard.

Sorry again, I'm talking about the ones running for V.P. and Biden.
