Keep the FN 509® Midsize MRD or go with Springfield Armory Echelon™ 4.0C for CCW/ECW?

Good morning everyone. I'm an FN loyalist and picked up my current FN 509® Midsize MRD for my CCW/EDC and have zero complaints. I've grown curious of other options though since news of the Springfield Armory Hellcat ® PRO first started to come out. Now it looks like the Springfield Armory Echelon™ 4.0C that came out a few months ago may be a complete game changer. It would also be nice to have a manual safety for less worrying when keeping it cocked and ready to rock.

Does anyone have real world experience and current ownership of both guns?

Is there a day and night difference in after sale support and warranty coverage?

Would you ditch one for the other?

Thank you in advance for taking the time to read my post.

No more than they cost I wouldn’t sell one to get another. There is usually sellers remorse with that.

As good as the SA is the FB is pretty good and FN has been around for quite a while

Get both and enjoy both and is uiu happen to like one better than the other then sell the one you don’t use and try something else.

Good luck

Try shooting the Springfield if possible and then make up your mind which you prefer.
This...
But in all honesty, I owned the 509 and it never really impressed me much. I've owned a multitude of carry guns over the years trying to find the right one and I was still looking when I picked up the Echelon. I really wasn't impressed when they first came out, but the Echelon grew on me the more I read about it and watched the reviews. I really liked the VIS optic system and the idea of modularity with the COG system, so I gave it another try and rented one at my local range. I put a few hundred rounds thru it and decided right then and there that the Echelon was the edc for me. I now own 3 Echelons and proud to admit I'm an Echelon fanboy. All of my Echelons are shot regularly and all have been very reliable with zero issues.
Is it right for you? I don't know.. Handguns are a very personal preference and what I may love, you may not.
Good luck!

if you can, rent one and shoot it a bit before you buy. That’ll give you an idea of whether it suit “you”. Doesn’t matter what anybody else says, nor how cool it may be. If ir doesn’t work for You, then no go. There are a ton of Glock fanboys (and everybody knows they’re reliable) but they don’t “fit” me. Ymmv

Speaking as someone who chased the “better/best” handgun for years…

I think you’re just going from one plastic striker to another…if the 509 works for you, why change?

I tried pretty much all of them…Glocks, XD/XDm, M&P, PPQ, Steyr M9, CZ P10, FNS…before I settled on one that works for my—the HK VP9 series. I oook at other plastic strikers from time to time, but…I always end up asking “what is it going to do better?” , and have yet to have a good answer.
