I’ve had three of their 1911s and one revolver.

The first 1911 was a TLE II. It had some failures to fire early on because the new-at-the-time firing pin safety wasn’t timed properly. Only having the grip safety absolutely positively fully pressed in until bottomed would clear the firing pin. After adjusting, it’s been fine.
A great shooter, and the smoothest operating 1911 I own. Great trigger also.
I still have it, carried it for a while, and shot a lot of matches, and a few classes with it.

Next was a Compact, a 4” barrel and slide with an Officers frame. It worked fine and is still the smallest 1911 variant I’ve ever trusted.
I traded it off for something, and regret it.

The only other Kimber auto I’ve had was one of the Rimfire Targets. An alum alloy slide and frame, it weighed nothing. It actually functioned fine, which is not always a thing with .22 1911s and conversions.
Again, I traded it for something but probably should have kept it.

And finally the K6s revolver. Mine is the original style with internal Centennial-style hammer. It has the 3” barrel.
It works and shoots great. Really nice DA (only) trigger.

I have a Kimber Custom Two Tone LW in 45. It's full size, but light weight.
I have had no issues with it function wise.
I did have a small issue when trying to replace the grips.
The bushings kept coming out of the frame instead of staying in place. Sent it back to Kimber, they fixed the issues and all is well.
I trust it completely and carry it every Sunday for church security.

I have one, it’s their Commander model, Pro II I think is what it’s called.

Anywho, it runs fine. I just don’t shoot it much.

Would I buy another one? Probably not. Too many other brands out there with arguably better track records. But for what it is, it works. I also think their line tends to be too “busy” to keep up with, and probably over priced for what you get. Just my opinion, FWIW.

any kimber owners past or current semi-auto shooters here? regardless of cartridge weigh in on experience with the brand..........i know some have stated in the past about owning 1, but wouldn't mind some feedback
i had the Kimber Custom II, 2 tone, and it was a series 80, as it had the Schwartz device...i liked it, but it had issues, sent it back to Kimber and got it back in less that a week in fact....!!!!!.

great job, ran like a top after that...but things being what they were here, i had to sell it...otherwise, i'd still have it.

would i recommend a Kimber..??

ABSOLUTELY..!!!!!!!!
