I had some concerns over the size of the gun, I shot an FN PS90 years ago, but that’s it. Really didn’t know what to expect.

Two months ago when the gun was released the influencers blew up YouTube. Legit info? Beats me. The gun sure looked sweet. I got to hold one, that’s it. It felt solid, had some weight, nothing cheap about it. I laid the cash down.

Range day today, she’s a shooter, zero regrets. I put about 200 rounds through it, gonna up my ammo budget.

It was comfortable to hold, the wider butt on my brace was nice. The trigger, nice break and reset. The recoil, I didn’t think it was any worse than a buffered AR. Could be me, 🤷🏻, it does bounce but your back on the target fast. The mag release, bolt charging thang, were nice. The mag jumps out and the bolt kachunks like any AR.

Two issues, it’s more on the operator than the gun I think. Setting the mag in tight when the bolt is closed, gotta double check. And, the fore grip, ehh, it’s the gun size, you’ll figure it out.

I shot at 15 yards, 25 yards, then 80 yards. It’s a shooter. Bing went the steel. 80 was tuff cuz of my vision and the shot up white/gray steel. I’m getting orange target paint. The prism optic, was sweet, it didn’t bounce like a red dot.

Question, where should the optic be placed on the rail?? I have it near my eye, I dunno what’s better.

Hope this helped, it’s a shooter, no regrets.

Mine is closer to my eye. Not great picture but all I had on me phone

By no means an expert, but when i was researching the SLx i got it did call out a defined eye relief distance rather than unlimited with dots. I picked something in between recommendation (2” - 5”) but to be fair never tried any farther. 🤷‍♂️
I have several SLX1s that I run on my AP5s and the eye relief is best about 3 1/2 inches. Primary Arms claims 2-6 inches, but I think that is generous and generally the feedback from users is you have to get pretty close. I just picked up a GLX 1 which has a larger eyebox and I like it. I currently run it on my 10.5 HD AR. I’ve also run the PA 3x magnifier with the SLX1 on my AP5 to shoot out to 100 yds. It worked fine. Etched reticle is definitely the way to go.

I usually mount most unmagnified optics over the ejection port of the receiver on ARs and other firearms like the Kuna. I find it way easier to pickup the sight picture when shouldering quickly. It also keeps your peripherals clear.

I just wanted to say, "Hey! Thanks for sharing!" I've been saving my gig money to add to my one-of-each collection. I just added one Glock and one lever action rifle. Maybe I'll get one of these before I get a Hi Point. ;)

Thank you for your indulgence,

BassCliff

Do it. lol. No regrets. Rounds out the collection, AR, mini 14, 10/22, and the Kuna. All look good in the safe.
