I have a relative who lives in said state and IT seems that leadership has had another Whizbang idea . Awhile back a new law for those using innertubes on the rivers becomes a boat and I guess licensed as such, brilliant.Well now the new law for lawn mowers is the have to be licensed and have a license plate displayed, there more it also must have turn signals and a horn. Operator must be 16 and have valid drivers license and if driven more than 25 ft on the street it has to have valid liability insurance. This laws also says that even in your own backyard this applies and if your drinking a beer you are subject to the test and if failed charged with a DUI. The law takes effect January 1/2026 but it seems to have left off the weed Wacker. It also says headlights required. I told my wife that I am going to see if any bars or clubs have open mike night maybe I could do a stand up to by some beer because I am to old to push a lawn mower and can't afford after market accessories.

i know in my state (RI) the legislature wants to outlaw gasoline powered lawn and garden equipment in favor of quieter and environmentally cleaner battery powered gardening and lawn care equipment, even for professional landscapers, not just homeowners.
 
I think if you check, it’s illegal to operate any motorized vehicle in any state while drinking, including lawnmowers on your own property.

Which is why I’m very thankful I’ve got a 6’ privacy fence in my back yard…

Hypothetically, I may have just finished up with one of these as a companion…

Update according to relative measure has hit the round file and will be buried under a pile of manure and never see day light again.
