Lest We Forget. . .

V-E Day (victory in Europe) May 8, 1945, marked the beginning of world-wide celebration of the end of World War II.
My respects to the soldiers and families of all who are left these days. You never get the respect you should and I guess I'm guilty of it to even though I try not to be. I was born in 1951 in a city that abuts Fort Campbell, KY so I was raised from Day-1 to have a great deal of respect. Even now, 75 years later, I still have that respect even though there is nobody left to tell me I have to. These days I do so because I want to and it's the right thing to do. You guys are the heroes I have always had.

I do disagree that the celebration is world wide though. I doubt that the damn old Nazis that escaped to South America are having a group hug at the memory of it ;)
