Lightweight .22 LR tactical-Style carbine for small game hunting

Looking for opinions on using tactical-style .22 LR rifles like the GSG-16 for small game (rabbits, squirrels). The 18" barrel and AR-style controls make it handy in thick brush, and .22 LR is ideal for minimal meat damage. Anyone tried this setup? I’ve use .22 bolt rifles for more than 6 decades. Rifles that will group inside a dime all day at 50 yards. Nothing “tactical”, ever. If you’re hunting you’d best hit that squirrel or bunny on your first shot odds of getting a decent second shot are slim. If it IS possible I’ve never had the least difficulty cycling the bolt in plenty of time.
