I am ready to put a scope on. Everywhere I look all I read is it can not be bore sited. Is this true?

I don’t see why it couldn’t, but…I’ve never boresighted a scope in my life.
Just zero at 25 yards, and then adjust to the zero distance you want.

Depending upon your mount and rings, you may find it necessary to use shims.

I think what the OP is saying is that it can't be 'bore sighted' in the truest sense... by actually looking (eye balling) through the bore, except with "one of those GI chamber/bore inspection thingies with the 45* mirror in it".
I'm glad Snake45 knew the name of it ... I sure didn't. I couldn't think of the word 'thingies'.

Here's what I'm talking about. Mine's made of simple gray plastic but looks almost identical to this one, and obviously does the same job.
