Made a trade yesterday...

Master Class
I had a new DW Specialist 45 that I was 250 rds into the break in phase (no problems at all) but just couldn't get past the rail on it. I know, "Why did you buy it then?" It was all that was available at the time and I thought I might convince myself to like it. Anyway, I ran into a younger fella that had something he thought he might grow to like but couldn't. So we traded, end of story. I'm happy with it.

Yea, I know how you feel about a rail on a 1911, my Sig 1911 has the rail, been contemplating trading it off, but being a Sig, I’m having second thoughts

Please forgive my ignorance but what’s the issue with the rail on a 1911?
For me a 1911 is in the 1911 A1 configuration as was issued to me years ago. I have 3 with the beavertail, delta hammer, extended thumb safety etc. but there is just something that just seems "right" when it is like a mil-spec. When I would shoot the Specialist it shot great, was accurate, no malfunctions but I kept looking at it and thinking "that shouldn't be there". Just me I guess?
