i have yet to load my safe with the listed number it can hold...i keep thinking if i stuffed them in, they would be scratched and piled on top of each other

It's usually tough to get 2/3s of the amount in there. These rods help, but I wouldn't use them in anything you are trying to keep ready to get out in a hurry. Not that it takes anything to get them out, but it does take more than just reaching in and grabbing them.

Also the rat fur that all the shelves and lining in most safes work fine to hold the rods. I never stapled any extra material on to anything.

I stopped worrying about that years ago, my safes look like sardine cans.

I wonder why. It's not like you could ever afford to actually buy enough safes to properly store them all. You'd have to turn the kitchen into a safe room and make your wife cook out on the patio.
