Mass Shooting in Maine

Because of this crap, you heard it here first, all guns will be banned in this country! I just get that feeling in my bones. This is what happens when you don't keep the crazies locked up!!! Their rights are more important than anyone else's.

This one is really close to home ! Have learned to wait (not believe) original reports until the dust settles. Have read reports that 2, 10, 22, 40+. and 60 have been killed. "Killers" residence has been listed in 3 different towns. Reports of no violent history, problems at a local military base, and 2 issues of domestic violence resulting in 2 divorces. I'm thinking the news sources get paid by the word so they just jump to conclusions to get the word count up. Something bad has happened !! How bad, we'll find out later today.

You have to take any “numbers” reports with a grain of salt in the first 24 hours with any event. And watching any cable news channel even Fox they are almost as excited about reporting increasing numbers with the same enthusiasm you and me would be with watching our market returns going up.

It really is quite sad new reporters seem “all to glad” to report numbers instead of A,B or C happend and they did X,Y and z

If they would wait and get back with facts when they get them instead of having 30 different talking heads rambling on making predictions when nobody talking knows what’s really going on in the trenches Thad be great!

But, Maybe I’m just that old dude now!

at least 16 killed as of this mornings news.

he was a firearms instructor for the reserves

he was in a mental hospital last summer, for making threats about shooting.....he must have been cured.

he's still on the run.

Robert Card, 40, is being sought as a person of interest in the shootings, Lewiston police said around 11 p.m. ET, adding he “should be considered armed and dangerous.”

Card is a certified firearms instructor and a member of the US Army Reserves, law enforcement officials in Maine told CNN. He had recently threatened to carry out a shooting at a National Guard facility in Saco, Maine, and reported mental health issues, including hearing voices, the officials said.

yeah, i know, this is from cnn, but it's what's being reported here locally as well

and from this and all the others...i can see even more anti 2A crap coming down on us.

why don't "they" build more mental hospitals and lock'em up and throw away the key.????

Oh was he allowed to roam the streets? Threats to shoot up the base? No FBI visit? What "medication" was he on?

Hopefully, this man has made his way to a secluded spot, will man up, and do the right thing.
hopefully, i hope he gets shredded in half by a volley of fire from the cops.

he's got mental issues..??

and he's not locked up...??

then he does not deserve to live another day.....HE WILL NEVER BE CURED...NONE OF THEM CAN EVER BE CURED.....

i hope the libtards that said mental hospitals are cruel are paying attention to all of those killings.

just like the libtards say that "petty crime" is not a big issue, and yet, crime is rampant in many areas.

THOSE IDEAS JUST DON'T WORK......

gotta get back to the basics.......make all crime punishable, make all mental people stay locked up.

Sounds like a plan. Now, WHO gets to decide WHOM has "mental issues"?

Remember, that's exactly how the Soviets dealt with their "dissidents" for decades. (And might still be doing it, for all we know.)

It turns out that Maine has a "Yellow" flag law. Same as a red flag law in that it allows LE to take your guns, BUT it has to be signed off on by a doctor. Looks like somebody dropped the ball here. 🤬
A red flag law only works if LE takes the person and deals with the gun later. It makes no sense to take a person's guns and leave that person loose in the community, as dangerous as ever, to seek out other means to carry out threats.

once a person is suspected of having mental issues, from perhaps thier own doctor, they get put away..end...period.

have you seen any tv shows lately where many people are claiming they need to take care of thier mental health...??

if not, well i have been seeing this...lock them up, they self confessed to be mentally ill.

i blame that gymnast Simone Biles, she stopped her program and claimed she had mental health issues..from THAT day forward, that's all we here nowadays..people claiming they have to take care of thier mental health...

we NEVER mentioned this years ago, but thanks to Simone, now EVERYONE claims to have mental health issues...

lock 'em all up, throw away the key.

"Everyone else has a mental problem except me" is how many folks with mental issues see it.

if he was seeing a mental health person and by all accounts told them he has issues or hears voices to tell him to kill. ( i have no proof of this mind you, just what news has reported. i guess NOW its ok for his shrink to speak up)
why didnt said shrink let police know he was a danger before hand?
we dont know what the legal outcome was after his 2 week mental hospital stay? but if he was seeing a person regularly, one would think the dime would have been dropped on him. Was it a VA mental person or private? lots of questions
we have to protect rights of people 1st, but hey when bright flashy lights are going off, we might need to take a second look or a sanity check?

Several weeks ago my 93 year old mother's primary care doctor suggested that she see a psychiatrist to help with some of her mental issues due to advancing dementia. Well guess what? No psychiatrists in the Richmond area are taking on new patients. Now we can deal with my mother's issues, but I feel for families that have a family member that needs immediate attention.

i have had family members that had dementia.. no other specialist was required....they got into a nursing home. the nursing homes at least from what i have seen up here, can handle dementia and Alzheimer's people.

we may never really know all the details, unless a formal request for documents occurs and we see the guts of the case.

but if a person makes a threat to kill guardsman or any other people and the court orders a 2 week mental health stay....wouldn't it still be a crime to convey the threat to kill people, despite the 2 week stay in a mental place? and wouldn't the law enforcement maybe follow up, as he still committed a crime, or did court drop charges once the mental health stay was completed ?
and wouldn't the court also order surrender of any firearms until completion of treatment? maybe they did, maybe they did not?
and it was reported he was still seeing a shrink prior to last night

even if we protect his rights as with everyone should have those protected. we need to know what the court ordered when he went into mental hospital eval for 2 weeks. and if any orders required surrender of firearms knowing his experience and or training and the fact he is an instructor and might be a FFL or was a FFL as news reported

if so all this might have been prevented, or at least really slowed down his access to firearms??

so then the conspiracy people could say... its a black flag distraction of another mentally diminished person set on a bout of rage or murder by a shrink (aka cia, fbi?) to move an agenda.
NO i am not saying this is what happened, but it does make for a good horror story
we still dont know the truth about las vegas shooting??

He was not an FFL nor was he an instructor. He did something with petroleum in the guard, which I assume means logistics. At least according to CBS news a few minutes ago. He also spent a couple weeks in a mental facility and was known to the NY state police as a mental issue.

So it really isn't a red flag issue, it's a fix the ridiculous NICS system before you attempt to expand it issue.
