Hi,

Do you remember this couple, Mark and Patricia McCloskey?

I'm glad to hear they got relief, albeit years later, after "sticking to their guns".

Thank you for your indulgence,

Hi,

Personally, they acted like idiots going out in front of there home, especially her holding that pistol like that, and him his AR, they should have never did that and shouldn’t got the guns back period, people like this give the pro gun community a bad rap

I'll agree, I would not have handled that situation the way they did. But I do believe they were within their rights. Unfortunately the DA at that time was going after law abiding citizens and NOT rioters. The police were even given "hands off" orders. I don't blame them for protecting their property.

Thank you for your indulgence,

Now i don't pretend to know the stuff that went down that day. if i remember right they crashed the gate to get in. if so that is an aggressive act. how many BLM protest you ever seen that was peaceful. i don't know where they were at but here it's not against the law to have a gun in your yard long as you don't point it at anyone or threaten them with it.

Hell i cross the street all the time with AR's in my hands. if cars going by spazz out then they can move somewhere where they ain't legal. if they pointed at them and argued with them then that's where they did wrong. Now if i knew a huge BLM crowd was coming down this street i might stand in my yard with a gun too. i wouldn't point it and wouldn't say a word but the first one that came at me or threw a rock would get shot. here that would be self defense. I know this is a lot of tough talk and most of you say it's BS but damned if i'm gonna allow a bunch of thugs to destroy my home and endanger my family cause they think they can.

I'm old enough now i don't give a ****. throw me under the jail. my mother told the chief of police that one time. I'll have a gun in my yard anytime i want, i don't care if a gay pride march or MLK march is in progress. long as i don't threaten nobody it's none of their business. Of course we never had no crap like that here.

I wouldn't have to worry about them getting here anyway, a few houses down the road would have laid waste to most of em anyway.

Hi,

In Ohio, what they did could be called brandishing a firearm…big no no……

Yes, the state and local laws would have to be checked but I have read several instances where attackers were scared off once a firearm was displayed by the victim. It's definitely a legal minefield. I'm glad it eventually worked out for the McCloskeys.

Thank you for your indulglence,

Hmmmm? remember the "golden horde" first had to break through the gate to the private community, so they had already committed burglary and trespassing. By the time they got to that house, who knows what else they had done and then there was the Governor and his wife who liked the smell of burning tyres...

Im kinda alright with them displaying the guns, although the wife appears to be useless and untrained; typical of a rich suburbanite with a husband's money that gives her clout to demand preferential service.

I dont remember all of the details; but I thionk I would have had a predetermined line in my head, somewhere between the roadway and the front door, and anyone(s) crossing it would have been shot. Judas Priest, hes a lawyer, I think a first year intern could argue that as self defense in the face continuing mob violence from a group who had already shown their malicious intent

Their wardrobes should have been enough to get them arrested! That’s where the real crime happened.
@SimonRL they don’t have any shoes! send them some fancy Italian shoes from your surplus.
Hmmmm? We're joking but THAT would have been part of my defense. "Your Honor, my clients didnt even have time to dress. Do you really think Mrs McClosky would want to be seen in public dressed like this; she an Mr McClosky were reacting to the assault..."

Ive always laughed that if someone tries to brake into my house at night, someone is probably gonna call 911 saying, Send the police. Theres a naked fat man chasing two people down the street with a flamethrower". Im not sure what'll be scarier the flamethrower or my naked butt; but itll make a good pic in the local paper with my butt blurred out....(theres a image thatll take a while to fade)

Besides how often do you ever hear of someone using a flamethrower in self defense
