Mil-Spec 1911 “Retro Custom”

This pistol stated as a stock Springfield Armory Mil-Spec 1911 45 ACP. Nighthawk Customs did the work using Harrison Design Retro Custom parts. It looks Smooth and Elegant 😊
Disclaimer: This isn’t mine. It’s what I want. Everything I need and Nothing I don’t. I would switch out the thumb safety and the slide stop for the ones Harrison Design offers.

It’s supposed to read “started”.

Very much.

It’s guaranteed 3” at 50 yards; my best is just over that using carry ammo (Golden Sabers).

Unfortunately, it rarely gets shot or carried anymore; likely getting sold/traded soon.
3” at 50 yards? According to what I was taught in the Army, 50 yards is the Maximum Effective Range for the M1911A1 using USGI 230gr FMJ.

I’ve put full mags on a silhouette at 100 yards with this pistol…

As for it being effective? Well, I’ve yet to meet anyone who’d volunteer to be on the receiving end at that distance to prove it’s INeffectiveness, so…;)

Kudos to those of you that can focus or even see a 3" target at 50 yards. I can keep about 7 or 8 out of 10 rounds inside of a 3.5" shoot-n-see target at 15 yards with no problem, inside the 9 ring of large silhouette at 25. The Ole peepers ain't quite what they used to be.
