Yep, EMP Ronin 4” for 9mm and TRP 4.25 in .45 for something bigger (to carry). All my other 1911s are .45. I have 2011s to carry high count loads in 9mm…currently gathering dust in the safe…IMHO the EMP is “the” 1911 in 9 mm. If I want more size and weight it’ll be .45. Just never cared for a full size being “blocked” down for smaller cartridge (but I guess that’s just me). Sure are a lot of 9mm 1911’s around so I’m obviously in the minority
My EMP slide should arrive at Springfield today to be fitted with tritium combat sights.

I think that is a sharp pistol. I was tempted a while back but read there were some issues. Who here has experience with them, any issues? (And I don't care about disassembly tools)

Both 9mm and .45 have thier place in self defence,but what really matters is shot placement,no good having the best calibre if you cant hit a barn door at 25 feet.

I have had one for a while, “SA Emissary AOS 4.25 .45 - 28 Oct 24 - current - 600 rounds - 10 Aug 26”. Not one malfunction, though at last range trip on 10 Aug 26, the optic loosened (optic, not plate). About the only complaint I have is the boat anchor weight! I’d not use it for carry (much lighter TRP CC), but a viable home defense/range gun.

Made it to range today to try out the PPK/S I picked up yesterday. Figured I’d bring along the Emissary and knock out another 100 rounds of FMJ on my way to 500 before .45 JHPs.
Since I was just basically running rounds through the Emissary, through up the target at 7yds, then 10 fast rounds into each circle which resulted in some mag reloading practice (always good). Shooting PMC Bronze 230g w/830 fps at muzzle. No surprises other than three of four grip screws starting coming loose.
Next up was the never fired PPK/S. Fired 50 rounds of...

As I was reviewed my gun logs, I realized I hadn’t shot my .45 caliber SA Emissary 4.25 AOS since last October (2024). Its’ optic still sits on a shelf in my closet as after that last range trips, figured I didn’t need it - and not like I’m daily carrying a 40 oz, before loading, handgun

Got to range today to sight in Acro P2 on the Operator and put some rounds through Emissary, both .45s. Was using the Syntech Flat Nose 230g/830 FPS for zeroing. No zeroing targets available so used this one, at 10 yards. A WAG, since only 7 and 15 marked on wall.
