Mounting a light on a PDW

MiataMinded

I'm looking to mount a light on my kuna but I have an angled foregrip on the front so I'm looking for something compact that I can mount on one of the side m-lok rails. Anyone have any recommendations for which light is best or have any setups of their own?

I mounted this one on the side of my Banshee which has M-lok. i added a small picatinny rail for attaching the switch module on the opposite side.

Do you happen to have a picture of how it looks on the banshee? I was looking at a piece of picatinny exactly like what you suggested vs an offset 45deg piece of picatinny. I'm just having trouble visualizing working the on/off button ergonomically with an angled foregrip. I guess it's all about the thumb placement.

Depends on how much you want to spend. Im a huge fan of the Surefire Vampire but they are PRICEY
Phew, those look nice but I think I'd be willing to spend about half that ($250). I'd be satisfied with the performance about the same as my TLR-7X on my handgun but I want it to be easy to operate on the PDW

This is how it sits now. I like to carry it and shoot it SAS style without the brace and just utilizing the sling. I'm concerned about ergonomics and not adding too much bulk to the gun

Yep the Vampires ARE expensive but they are nice and have IR capability if you ever want to use Night Vision

NV is out of the question TBH. This is a vehicle/bag gun at most.
Hahaha dont rule it out there are some sub $500 options and its a game changer once you have it youll wonder what you did without it

BACK to the light. Id look for a MLOK set up if you can find one to keep everything slimmer. Then theres the question of how bright you want. For strictly inside use I find 500 lumens to be sufficient, outside 1000+ lumens but the that much can be toooooo much inside and actually be counter productive

I could not mount the light on top because it interferes with the optic. It is set up for a left handed shooter with the switch on the starboard side

@HayesGreener how do you like the olight? Are the on par with streamlight quality-wise? I was thinking of getting one.
It has lots of power and functions well, and has a very good mounting system. I can't tell you about durability until I have abused it for awhile, although I have fired around 500 rounds of .45acp with it mounted and nothing has yet shaken loose. The switch setup is excellent on the Olight. I have Surefire lights on guns but was not willing to put a $300 light on this gun. My EDC pistol light is a Streamlight TLR1 and it has been bulletproof.

Great! Thank you. I have Streamlight TLR7’s on handguns and their Protac lights on long guns without any hiccups. I was curious about the Olight because i like the slim design for long guns.
