For an optic or dot for an 11.5" AR. I prefer a lpvo over a dot.

well i'm not an expert as it's just a preference on what i'd use. ar of which cartridge for 1? if 300bo i'd use a large windowed rd. if 5.56 then a fixed 2x or 3x for a both eyes open optic use. this is a good optic that i've purchased for my 8" 9mm pistol cmmg

Oh the comment section for answers. So many different answers to life’s challenges. Personally I wouldn’t know where to go with this comment. I’m not a big optic person (nor adjustable sights).

I’ll throw this out to you. What is your budget? What have you used before for optics? How open are you to a brand? It boils down to you because everyone is different and like doing stuff a certain way.

I am a Trijicon ACOG fan but those are pricey. Lots of options with them. Depends on how critical your AR is and limits of your budget.

11.5” AR, Im going to guess closer in.
If you want a lpvo, I would suggest a 1x4. I have several AR’s set up that way.

Pick your poison, I bought mine with the cantilever mount. My personal opinion is the SFP works better in a LPVO scope. I love my Strike Eagle 3-18x44 34mm FFP but in a LPVO spending most of your time in lower power the reticle can be very hard to distinguish.

I have the Vortex Strike Eagle 1-8x24and the Sig Tango MSR 1-6x24. They both get the job done. I run a Primary Arms GLX-1x microprism on my 11.5 in SBR. It’s great in tight and will reach out to 100 yds easily. For inside 15 yds I have a Viridian HS1 handgrip with laser.

Budget isn't a concern. I usually buy a better optic than the platform it's going on. I have used up to and including ZCO.
Brand is irrelevant. Much more concerned with quality and usability.

Have you tried going into a “good” LCS and check out some out? You already have idea’s in your head and go from there.
