All of the firearms I have raised are very well behaved. Not once in over 50 years has any of them ever shot at something or someone accidentally.

Very tragic but wait, what type of gun? If the article stated it I missed it so, handgun? Why was the muzzle pointed at his stomach? Shotgun? How in he77 did the muzzle get pointed at his stomach? For me to many questions no answers. This happened in Italy so why did the article immediately switch to USA statistics about accidental shootings?
A (2) year old toddler pulls the trigger on a firearm? I hate to be so negative on that article but to much about it skeptical to me.
