I think I remember Springfield Armory remaking M1 Garands a few years ago. Does anyone know where one could be found, or heard about another run being put together? Or, is my memory faulty?

Your memory is not faulty. Let's see how mine is. I remember it was around 1990. They were made in 30/06 as well as 308. They show up on the auction sites often.
 
They are still in production as I get e-mails from Springfield with the M1s listed. Authorized seller near you should be able to order.
 
I can't find an M1 on their site? I seem to remember them selling some about a decade ago (and selling a lot back in the 80s and 90s), but I think their entire line of "garandy" guns now is the M1A family now? https://www.springfield-armory.com/m1a-series/

Has anyone else seen something I missed? I'd love to be able to get a "new" Garand for a good price...
 
CMP is probably your best bet, but you'll have to wait on supply with them....
