Range update. Well, she shoots. Definitely not a target rifle but i wasnāt expecting that out of s something called a āgallery gunā. The target is a 5-round group off a bag at 20yds. The spent 22 casing is for reference.
I also learned that the stock is not original but came off a Model 62. Winchesters slide action rifles (1890, 1906 and 62) have several interchangeable parts.
View attachment 76629I replaced only the firing pin stop and the screws that hold it in place along with the elevation screw on the rear sight, which was missing.
Fun rifle to shoot and is mechanically sound. Thatās all i could ask for. I am happy with it.
The 1906 was considered a āboys rifleā. It was smaller than the 1890, a good size for beginners.Hi,
