i'm trying to decide on which caliber (not cartridge this time as it's limited) to get for a short action .473" bolt face?
i don't have any quarter bores and already have a 243win, 6.5creed, 260rem, 7-08rem and 308win in that action and face combos. not wanting to get anything caliber wise larger than the 30cal.
possible choices are
22-250rem (not the ackley version)
22creed
220swift (skipping that 1)
25creed
257rob+p
277fury/6.8x51 (max psi @ 65k instead of 80k, unless getting a sig)
outcome will depend on finding ALL necessary reloading components (dies & brass........bullets, powder and primers are the easier parts). i could just scrap the ar243win barrel (or maybe just the upper) and just go 6x47 or 6creed? 25cals don't have much selection on cartridges similar to the 27cals.
i'm trying to get companions for the ar15 cartridges like the 5.56, 6.5gren, 6.8spc & 300bo's to use heavy to heaviest per caliber bullets.
22cal bullets will be 85-95gr
25cal bullets i'll be using 120-138gr
27cal bullets will be in the 135-165gr range
