...Pellet and BB Guns.

Anti-gun lawmakers in the Empire State are running out of things to ban.

New York already prohibits a broad category of so-called “assault weapons,” almost all magazines capable of holding more than ten rounds, suppressors, machine guns, “rapid fire modification devices” (bump stocks, trigger cranks, binary trigger systems, burst trigger systems, pistol converters, and similar devices), unserialized firearms, unserialized or unfinished frames/receivers, metal knuckles, chuka sticks, wrist-brace type slingshots or slungshots, shurikens, throwing stars, many kinds of toy guns, and much more.

Illustrating the endless aims of gun control advocates, two pending bills in the New York State legislature now propose restrictions on air rifles, pellet guns, and BB guns. Senate bill S9215 and the identical Assembly bill, A10701, would change the definition of an “imitation weapon” under NY Gen. Bus. Law §§ 870 to 873 to include “an air rifle, pellet gun, or ‘B-B’ gun;” amend NY Gen. Bus. Law § 399-r, on the sale of paint pellet guns, to include other types of air guns, and redefine “gun industry member” to include makers of “imitation weapons.”

Currently, “imitation weapons” (any device or object made of plastic, wood, metal or any other material which substantially duplicates or can reasonably be perceived to be an actual firearm, air rifle, pellet gun, or BB gun) must meet five requirements in order to be lawfully imported, offered for sale, sold, or distributed within the state.

1) The “imitation weapon” must be “constructed entirely of transparent or translucent materials;”

2) be colored white, bright red, bright orange, bright yellow, bright green, bright blue, bright pink or bright purple on the entire exterior or as the primary color; except for water guns,

3) have a barrel that is closed for a distance of not less than a half-inch from the front end of its barrel with the same material of which item is made;

4) be legibly stamped with the manufacturer’s name or identifiable mark by which the manufacturer can be readily identified;

5) and not have an attached laser pointer.

Although the bills don’t address possession, the effect of the amendment to the “imitation weapon” definition is that in order to be lawfully imported, marketed, sold, or distributed in New York State, air rifles, pellet guns, and BB guns would be required to comply with all five requirements. The closed/plugged barrel requirement means that should the amendment pass in its current wording, the only models available for import and sale would no longer be functional (able to fire a projectile).

and again Why does anybody choose to live under those kinds of restrictions?
maybe due to economic, family, job, schooling and a bevy of other reasons...?

why do many people say things like you did..??

do you actually think or believe it is easy to up root a family....??

do you actually think or believe that the exact same job can be found, for the same money, just to satisfy YOUR wanting them to move away..???

so many people are strapped where they are, for so many reasons

to go and ask why.......
and again Why does anybody choose to live under those kinds of restrictions?

is very foolish on your part.

NO it is NOT easy to move it took me years and a divorce before I was able but I do question those who live under oppression who dont make plans to get out.

I watched as others left blue states for free places. I watched as the oppression became worse (and I was told to enforce the oppression). I saw Cubans who fled giving up everything because freedom was more important than stuff Its a question of deciding what is more important AND recognizing what staying means

So yeah it can be done and choosing to remain is a choice. IDK maybe Im just a lucky one but I gave up a LOT to move

I will not move out of Illinois, because the cancer docs that saved my life are here, my family and friends are here, and the Illinois State Rifle Association is fighting for those of us who refuse to tuck our tails and run to a red state.
i know there are members on this forum who also live here, and I hope they stand alongside the ISRA and fight the good fight.

at my age, i cannot easily give up my entire family, my doctors, and specialists....

i ain't about to sell my house, and pay MORE money for another house, and have another mortgage..

nor are the wife and i wanting to live in an apartment and have nosey-bodies near us.

as i have said a few times in other threads, there are just way too many variables for the wife and i to just move away.

do you know, for instance, that the relatives that i have, that live in Florida, actually have to come back up here, JUST to go to thier specialists up here..??

true..FACT

why would i or the wife subject ourselves to inadequate health care, just to live in a "free state"...??

frankly as i said, its really ignorant to have made such a comment as to " Why does anybody choose to live under those kinds of restrictions?"

how about the next time you get that urge to make such a comment......you don't...???

so we MAKE SURE we get to the polls on primary day, and general election day.

I agree, packing up and moving out of state all in sake of moving to another state with less restrictions on firearms is not plain and simple. For myself, it’s my job and family the keep me here in Washington State. And also while the political field is not all ideal I do love the eastern side of this state. But it is also a bit more complex than just those reasons alone. In states like WA it’s just been a progressive downhill battle for 2nd amendment supporters. And as much as I would love to move to a state like Florida it’s just not so easy.

Look guys I ddint mean to start a firestorm; but Ive seen both sides of the blue red line and the difference is clear. Yep moving was is costly and all the rest. My point is that staying under oppression is a cost all its own AND when guys fail to realize they are paying that cost, its even worse because they are accepting the cost as normal. Its NOT normal.

I really doubt health care is "inadequate" anyplace other than blue states. Id suggest the ignorance is failing to recognize the difference between oppressive restrictions and free choice...and that is the real victory of oppressors. Its like the guy from Maryland that was shocked at the thought of owning a hi cap magazine "I dont need that! Thats only for criminals..."

You guys can hate me for saying it and have all your reasons for staying and I hope it works for all of you. I also hope the cost is not too much but I DO hope you realize the cost because THATs freedom and forgetting freedom is just.....well sad

It’s all well and good, it’s good to talk and discuss these topics. We all will share or not share a wide range of opinions or agree or disagree to a certain extent. My stance in this topic is that I don’t find it easy just to move due to my circumstances, but also I hope that future discussions and political landscape can change in my state however difficult that may be. But it all starts with people talking, and discussing, finding solutions and middle ground. I feel like the current social landscape is so volatile that no one is listing to anybody and we just need to get back to common sense and reasoning, and have hope that can happen even if it seems difficult.

I couldn't stand Illinois any longer after I got home from the Army. Tax this, tax that, crooked judges (The Grey Lords) no concealed carry licenses, 1 hour 20 minutes to travel eleven miles to work. My new Bride and I packed up and moved to Wisconsin. It WAS tough, and there was just the two of us, no kids. So it's easy to say "Why don't you leave?" It's not that simple. It took us the better part of a year to get jobs and settle in.

Moving from blue to red works a bit like torture and pain. People who refuse surgery out of fear, often relent when they've surpassed their pain tolerance. Every individual finds their own niche in life, and good or bad, is rewarded accordingly.
If I hadn't moved from blood red to blue, I'd have probably found myself in jail for the first time in my long life. I'll drive or fly to the red hellhole to see my family.
