No longer on Facebook or any social media

I have a FB account to talk to friends that I really don’t see. I have it on secure status as I call it. There’s some groups I belong to that I kinda follow but not to serious about. I do troll through it to have a little bit of a laugh since I feel like I live at work (118 hours the last 2 weeks). I also do more time on here because it’s beneficial to learn on a hobby I actually enjoy (besides GB).

And for guys that brag about not being on social media, I have some news for you. This forum is a way bigger social media thing than facebook is. Some of you guys have thousands of posts about your day, what food you eat, your favorite music, and even a few guys that like to post pics of their feet! lol

It’s nothing but drama and people arguing about politics. I go on there to bitch about how some law enforcement agencies getting someone gun with skittles ammo.

I am on facebook and enjoy it. I'm thousands of miles away from family and childhood friends. I've been able to reconnect with many friends I had while in the Marines and Army. And have been to military unit reunions that only would have happened because of facebook. I think I actually have three, maybe four ex-girlfriends as facebook friends. But no ex-wives! lol And for guys that brag about not being on social media, I have some news for you. This forum is a way bigger social media thing than facebook is. I have had a Facebook account since 2009. It was, and still is a way to stay in touch with military friends around the world, and family of course. I haven’t had too much in the way of stalkers on that platform. LinkedIn, on the other hand…I truly did not know that was a dating site. I don’t network anymore as I am retiring where I am, so I am very close to deleting it.

Ha ha! Belladonna! My experience exactly! Not networking for friends that can help solve current problems at my workplace but more like "How YOU doing?". My Linked In account was a sight! PS- glad you are back home and on the forum. We worried about you. Not a refection of your competence to take care of yourself of course...it is just that your friends don't trust anybody but themselves to watch out for you!

I said I’d never do FB then I found some old military buddies but had to join to connect to them. So I did and by the end of the day I had reconnected with about 20 Military buddies which was cool……the the scary stalker ladies started to come out of the woodwork. From old high school ladies to the workplace we will call them “friendlies” no thanks.

I basically use it now to stay in contact and share info on certain instructor groups or class alumni pages (Handguns Combatives Rangemaster etc)

But it is stupid at times when the uneducated make comments in say Concealed Carry on Rob
Leatham or many of the other relevent trainers. Like you are gonna tell the Great one how to grip a pistol better…..RIGHT!!!!!!

So FB is dumb sometimes so I try not to stay on it too long out of the day

I didn't have time to date all that much even when in school due to my work hours and being gone. 3 girls is my total in hs is all I had barely enough time for. Helping my dad build a house my freshman year starting at 9pm to 1am, start again at 5am fa few hours before school, school's out at 3:30 home by 3:45 to do farm and ranching, eat by 7, sleep 2 hours, rinse and repeat for months. Ill take pic of the house we built. Never got to live in it and neither did my parents as it got sold. Breaking horses, working cattle, building fences, traveling for horse racing, hauling livestock from Texas to California to Minnesota doesn't leave much time for anything. I was accustomed to 16-18 hour work days by 7 years old. Talk about slave labor or child labor laws being broken. I wouldn't give that up for anything ever! My brother was still alive and my POS sister was only an irritation at the time. At least my life and squad members lives weren't on the line like some of yours were!

SO,
Not much time for dating even in college or time to party.
