not ever funny.....but typical of my state's infrastructer

My dead horse...Until you stop voting for the same people over and over since term limits won't happen, don't expect change. Probably some of the multiterm officials of your party have syphoned money (meant for infrastructure) for their special projects. Independents are growing at a rapid rate due to lack of action and no clear definition of platform. The majority of TX toll roads are managed by some level of State Governance.
They only collect the money as some toll roads are foreign owned or co-owned along with out of state investors that bid and won the project(s). Regardless of it stating Texas in the toll. Do we know why those roads exist starting decades ago........I do, but the tolls never stop as per claim of never been paid for like the Eisenhower in Dallas that's over 50 years old iirc.

Do not get me started on Illinois. Our gas tax for roads had quadrupled in the last ten years, our city gas tax has done the same yet our roads are worse than ever! But hey, we have fabulous bike paths!
I traveled to Illinois to see my Friend who was dying of cancer or I wouldn't have traveled to Illinois at all. It was $1.80 per toll and when I got the bill they added a $3.50 "transaction fee" for EACH TOLL! So instead of $10.80 for a round trip it cost me $31.80! The gas back and forth was cheaper! I lived in Illinois until I came home from the Army and escaped to Wisconsin a year later. The place is a terrible rip off!

For clarification I said majority and yes there are some privatized Toll Roads in the State. It was a way to nickel and dime the constituency to death while believing you had done something good. They were glad to help until potters stopped getting fixed and tolls kept increasing.
