Wanted to purchase a 4 inch SA-35 but not with 3 dot sights..
Contacted the mother ship and they said I could buy the night sights extra for $95.00
So I asked them if they would install them on the gun if I purchased both.

They said they do not make "Custom Versions" of the SA-35.
Meaning I would need to find a local gunsmith (good luck with that)
and wait 6 months to get it back.....

Well most manufacturers won’t install optional parts unless the firearm comes already equipped, unless the manufacturer has a custom shop and then you order the firearm and wait for weeks for yours to be shipped.

Any reputable gunsmith can install the sights for a reasonable price, might even be cheaper to just have the smith order them, probably even get a better price on the sights and install

Looks like the sights ride in dovetails. Not a particularly difficult task to replace that type of sights, in my experience.

so you are assuming that a manufacturer would not be backed up as well? One off requested items are a lot of $$ in production slowdowns because not everyone's the same. thus, manufacturers charge a premium if/when they do custom applications

Sorry, not buying an SA-35 until they come out with an "As Issued" model. Those new Inglises are even worse... try to take the trappings of vintage Inglis while giving none of the specific traits of the Inglis guns.

Purchase the sights online and if you purchased or purchasing the pistol from a LGS have them swap for you. If the pistol was purchased online take the pistol and sights to your LGS and ask them to put them on. A small fee should be charged.

I believe Heinie will install sights, they claim a 1-2 week turnaround. And their product is high quality.

If a firearm manufacturer doesn't offer the sights I want for a certain model, I will purchase that model, purchase the sights I want and install them myself. It isn't difficult, and most of them don't come with the sights I prefer anyway.

I'm crazy enough to think I could buy a sight tool and change it myself. Then I could offer and sell the sight tool for a 20-25% discount to the next guy as insane as me.

I've also went old school with a ball peen hammer and a brass punch (even night sights) for 90% of the sights I've personally installed. I've yet to have a problem.
