So true- you come within a hair's breadth of justifiably pulling the trigger but find another way to resolve it. The restraint oficers use on a daily basis is incredible, but those who would kill an officer know no restraint. It all happens so quickly…any street cop can probably tell you of many incidents which almost ended up in a shooting. Then, if you survived, the dreaded interviewing I.A. Being in L.E. Is not a job for the faint of heart.
One has to wonder how many of these fine people hesitated for an instant because of scrutiny they would come under if they fired. I’d bet a healthy percentage of them. The current justice system seems designed to protect the perps, and not the brave folks attempting to enforce the law and protect the innocent. So true- you come within a hair's breadth of justifiably pulling the trigger but find another way to resolve it. I agree with you and I know I couldn't be in law enforcement the way things are in today's world. My daughter married a retired LEO and he feels the same way. Officer's seem to be presumed guilty untill proven innocent and there families are judged also,it makes me sick. One has to wonder how many of these fine people hesitated for an instant because of scrutiny they would come under if they fired.
