OK you old men, remember Olympia Beer & the dots on the back???

As a kid, I likes the Hamms beer commercial with the bear. "From the land of sky blue waters..."
Hamms on tap was pretty good actually. My Dad sold that too. I had a fair amount of Hamms gear.

Btw, If you have ever driven by the Oly brewery note that they did have natural spring water running under an archway of the building itself. The problem was that water was "filtered" through the cemetery on top of the hill overlooking the place. 😫

I’m only 68 so not sure if I qualify for the “old men” title. But I was raised in a Czech family so we were allowed to drink beer before we were allowed to drink coffee . Never drank Olympia though, but consumed enough Pearl, Falstaff and LoneStar to float a battleship. These days I tend to lean toward micro IPA’s in a frosty mug.

Ahh, so it was formaldehyde that gave it that special taste!

AT my first duty station which was shore duty, My buddy and I would hot the gym for two hours, then drive just off base and each buy a cheap quart of ice cold Columbia beer and down them. Don't know if it was because we were hot and thirsty, but they tasted great and talk about a quick buzz! Goofy yoots we were.

I'm spoiled on micro/craft brews now so the run-of-the-mill mainstream beers are undesirable now.

Was into Hefeweizen for awhile, but found out it was only best on tap, since once bottled it went downhill.

I'm stuck on Porters and Stouts now, preferably "nitroed".

All you guys must have been born with a silver spoon in your mouths! Drinking all those artsy fartsy beers! As an underage kid, we were happy just to be able to drink Old Milwaukee or Grain Belt Beer! I used my school lunch money to buy beer as a kid. Nothing fancy or expensive in those days.

I miss Old Milwaukee. If memory serves it took allot to get a buzz...a good one to carry with you on the riding mower on a hot summer's day.
