Oldest Self Defense Gun You Would Still Carry?

Oldest I've got is a Ruger P85. I'd carry it if I had to, but it's Uuuuuge. I guess I could use it as a club if I needed to. It is a tank.

Realistically, my oldest carry gun is my 4013TSW. drug this beast into the 21st century by propositioning it with booze and money. Then when it wasn't looking I slapped a red dot on it.

I think it resents me a little for it, but at least it gets out of the safe once in a while now.

Well, it does not say what is the oldest you have. It says what is the oldest you would carry. So presuming 100% functional condition, that would be at least back to 1911. Probably some earlier with a few revolvers. But that's from a trusting it standpoint. From a not too collectible and too valuable to be EDC I suppose back to my 1985 Speed-Six 2.75" .357 Ruger. Excellent and my current EDC.

My oldest gun at the moment is a 2019 WC EDCx9 I ordered new. It’s the one I recently upgraded (pics on here somewhere). I carry it every once in a while.

But in reality, if I function check a gun through a few hundred rounds of live fire and it works, it really doesn’t matter to me how old it is. More importantly (to me) is whether it’s easy to carry (size/weight/available holsters) and I am accurate with it.

Some of you guys’ “old guns” are pretty new to me, and it’s making me feel OLD!

I carry a S&W model 12 pretty much everyday as a second gun. I have four of them, but it’s really between two of them that I carry. One of these is late-50s and the other is early-70s. I guess that’s the oldest I’m carrying.
