When I got married and was about to buy our first house together, my dad told me over a beer while grilling some important info.
He said: “ life lesson here for newlyweds. Let her pick whatever colors and style for the bedroom. Who cares if floral, or whatever feminine color she wants. Go with it.
As long as she lets you sleep under them, with her, who cares the color. When your buds come over men dont say, Hey, check out my bedroom. No, they go show off the garage, man cave and grill. Dont argue with her over the bedroom. You wont win and the win isnt worth it. “
Well, wife and I go shopping to upgrade from college mix match furniture. Main bedroom shopping and she picking out “girly stuff”.. i object then remember dads talk.
I relent politely and assist in some color choices she asks between.
Parents come over to see the new home and dad smiles when he sees the bedroom. Looks at me and says: “ you listened. Good man.
Show me the new grill….”
