Interesting read on the DNC anti-gun platform

2nd Amendment was a direct result of British rule .. seems Democrats are trying the same thing in modern times .

“The British government was not, in a purely formal sense, attempting to abolish the Americans' common law right of self-defense. Yet in practice, that was precisely what the British were attempting. First, by disarming the Americans, the British were attempting to make the practical exercise of the right of personal self-defense much more difficult. Second, and more fundamentally, the Americans made no distinction between self-defense against a lone criminal or against a criminal government. To the Americans, and to their British Whig ancestors, the right of self-defense necessarily implied the right of armed self-defense against tyranny.“

a good short read on the subject and importance to our founding of America:

And every American needs to read the unequivocal Amendment II:

"A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed."

It was written by James Madison. He wrote our US Constitution, He explained the absolute necessity for Amendment II is his The Federalist No. 46 excerpted as follows:

"Besides the advantage of being armed, which the Americans possess over the people of almost every other nation, the existence of subordinate governments, to which the people are attached, and by which the militia officers are appointed, forms a barrier against the enterprises of ambition, more insurmountable than any which a simple government of any form can admit of."

Contained within The Federalist No. 46, Madison differentiated between Americans and organized militias thus destroying the argument of scurrilous politicians and sundry anti-American gun grabbers that Amendment II applied to only militias.

Madison memorialized our natural right to keep and bear arms so that We the People would possess necessary ability to retake our government by force of arms should a tyrant seize control of it.

Dr. Susan Gratia Hupp knew precisely of Madison intent when he memorialized our natural right to keep and BEAR (In the era Madison wrote Amendment II, bear referred to personal carry of firearms.) arms in his Amendment II:
