Opinion: Springfield Trophy Match

Hello, my friend is looking at this Trophy Match in 45 acp. He s contemplating buying it.
It looks really nice, very little in the line of scuffs, scratches or dings. The front strap checkering is really nice looking. Bore is perfect. Looks to be shot very little. Has original case and paperwork, 2 mags.

Questions:

What time frame do you think it is from? Nineties, Oughts?…?

Is $850 a good price?

Reliable? Fussy with ammo type?

Confession time:

I saw a post on a forum the other day, saying we should be cognizant of posting gun purchases with the coming change in our betters since starting in January.

I am usually not timid, but I took it to heart in our modern surveillance state, “why give them fuel to burn you with”?

I will state now for the record, I was a timid kitty kat and afraid of Mr See Aye Yay. Heck, they know everything anyway. Plus, you get to fill out the form anyway.

I go ice fishing a lot in the deep mountain lakes near me in the Winter. I always take my gun safe, chock full of guns to show my Pards while we are ice fishing. Almost every year I lose a gun safe after it goes through the melting ice, plunging 300-400 feet deep, thanks to Old Hoot having the stove so dern hot!

So, can I please request my Man Card be reinstated ? I promise not to be a swish ever again. Heck, I sing “Oakie from Muskogee “ every day with gusto! I pull my own teeth! I use an angle grinder to file my toenails. I use Gorilla Brand duct tape for times my wife says my back and shoulder hair needs thinned or exfoliated.

You got my vote….but I still won’t post any future gun pics or anything gun related I may or may not have purchased, and before anyone says they know what you have with the 4473 forms…..but to me, I ain’t giving them any fuel ……
