I was curious on what everyone thoughts are about this range.

I’ll be going out in 2 weeks to get a vibe check. I know I’m a bouncer on ranges but wanted something that would fit me better than what I have dealt with.

I've known the family since the 70's. Sue and Christina are witches. I caught Christina in an outright lie during a CC class. I proved her wrong with a phone call to the Illinois state rifle association. Funny fact my 7th grade history teacher was Mr. Pearson who now runs ISRA. My reward was an escort off the property.
I'd rather shoot knee deep in a flooded muddy ditch. Sue's maiden name is Van Hook that is how far back I go.

I’d find a new place considering you had to ask opinions before you even set foot on the place

family operation, where everyone is "da boss"

cliques galore, as well as favoritisms.....

you do you, but i'd be staying away.

they may never be an "issue" with you....

but always remember,......."the walls have ears and eyes, and spies"

if @Pitdogg2 remembers the family for being what they are............

and if you do go there, take note on the longevity of the RSO's and others in thier employ.....

The indoor range @Pitdogg2 is talking about, I’ve been to a very few times. Yes the range is nice but there hours are convenient for me the last year (working 12 hours a day then 8 on Saturday) and they stopped doing Sundays since the beginning of the year.

Sundays play a factor on what ranges I go too. Which honestly narrows a bunch of places. Plus I’m a 2 shifter which has its issues too.

I know there are clubs around me but they require joining the NRA but I’m not a fan of the NRA.

All in all I have to do some sort driving to exercise my 2A rights. Plus Illinois doesn’t help either since I live just south of 80 practically in the middle of it.

On the surface, the website looks good, the range pictures look good, the instruction and class offerings look good, the prices are reasonable, etc. But you won't really get a sense of the place until you've hung around for a while.

I noticed there are a LOT of family members working at that place. That's not necissarily a bad thing, keeping in mind that I don't know these people from Adam. Yelp ratings have them at 3.5 stars with more than a few negative reviews mentioning medical bills, rudeness, students treated badly by instructors, etc.

And that is my profound glimpse into the obvious for today. I don't think that range would be my first choice.

Not to stir up a hornet's nest, but joining the NRA is cheap. I don't think it's such a bad thing these days.

Stuff @Pitdogg2 helps. I been to several ranges as a member and made me uncomfortable out here. If I lived in the middle of the country then i would never need to visit a range.

Yes I seen “north of I-80” but south of it I’m slowly learning. There are a lot of friendly 2A people out here but also have the “Chicago” attitude type that screw it up for us down here.

well, if i was a customer, or a member of that place you inquired about, and i as treated rudely, then i'd be banned for life..

hey........i got experience being banned anyway, so you know how i'd be "taking care of biddness"....

take no :poop: , and take no prisoners.

again, under the circumstances you are living under, again, you do you.

and as @BassCliff mentioned, NRA membership is dirt cheap, and does at the very least get you into perhaps other places that require it, for memberships.

Chicago politics and politicians need to stay in Chicago, yet they do not! When the shut down Cabrini Green and Robert Taylor homes up north Chicago wanted or bribed mayors way south of Chicago to take some of the "safe" hood rats, it seriously affected our cities for the worse. Brought the drive-by shootings, heroin and crack problems to small town USA.
We've been fighting it for 20+yrs.

wow...$125.00 dues per year, and the family is included..!!

that's cheap.

but i saw the "flood photos", so maybe get yourself a row boat, for shooting on those days...???....lol

my club is from january to december as well, we had a 1 time fee of $100, for the Building tax assessment, much like your new club, and we got a key fob, which opens the door, 24/7/365.

i see to where they have "work hours required", my club, a new member has to work like 20 hours, then you are done, and from there, if one wants to volunterr, they can.

i never had to do work hours, due to my age.

not a bad idea, to get your dues reduced......

our dues is $250 per year.

basically, all the usual rules for a club, at least you have outdoor range too..!!

good luck, you should be able to join, they need the membership..they all do.
