Ozzy dies at 76 years old.

Piers Morgan asked the Black Sabbath founding member what epitaph he would like to have for his grave. Without missing a beat, Ozzy replied, “Bats taste like s***.”
 
Ahh found them… first time seeing Ozzy. It was at the annual Monsters of Rock festival in Germany. 1986.
Us getting ready to go then the man himself! Memories. Think I saw him about 5 times since the first.

Did you know... War Pigs was actually called something else, and it was about Satan and witches but the record label that it too satanic, so they changed the title and lyrics to make it an anti-war song...

I've heard the original before, this is the only video I can find of it...

That is actually just before the lyrics were finished and the song was recorded. They changed the song title for the record company but they didn't change the lyrics, which were completed by that time.

Video is from June 1970. The album was released in September 1970.

And a lot of famous front men and musicians can read music put play by ear, one of which is Paul McCartney, who admitted as much. Another is Jimi Hendrix who couldn't read music and taught himself to play by ear.

Most rock and roll guitarists can't. Mainly because it isn't necessary or even helpful other than for transcribing ( writing it down so others can follow) and even that isn't done very often. And nowadays with tab it's even more unnecessary.

Personally I can read music, but I don't apply it to guitar or bass. I've been doing that by ear since I was 8 or 9. I am pretty close to what is called relative pitch and I never have much trouble picking songs out. Guitar is not like a piano.
