+p ammo

I recently bought an HD MOD4 in 9mm
Was wondering if I could shoot +p ammo out of it?

Yes, Springfield site reports the pistol is rated safe for +p ammunition. Personally, I wouldn't let it become habit forming.

It's the successor to the XD9 Mod.3. It has updated slide serrations, not sure of any other updates over the Mod.3.

I’m not I have a black bear problem at my cabin in PA,when I am up there I would throw some of those rounds in the gun.

Black Bear arent that hard to kill but I know thats easy to say from the other side of a keyboard. I suspect a mag dump from regular 9mm would be fine but if you are really that concerned maybe consider another gun / larger cartridge

I’m not I have a black bear problem at my cabin in PA,when I am up there I would throw some of those rounds in the gun.

While I do have a small supply of +P hollow points, I'm not sure if it gives much advantage from a 4" barrel. I don't think there's much difference in muzzle velocity.

Even I know the answer to this and I wouldn’t touch one with a barge pole. And yes, you can shoot +p. I would recommend 124gr NATO to break it in.

Welcome to the forum from the mountains of West Virginia. IMHO, I wouldn't use it too often. It causes wear and tear in my experience with it. But, it was in a S&W 9mm....

Get some hardcast from Buffalo Bore or extreme penetrators from Underwood.
