Pirro Threatens to Arrest Lawful Gun Owners in D.C.

Would you prefer CNN or MSN or PBS, please....

Can we at least agree its better then the last and most prior administrations
I would have preferred anyone with prior government experience in the role or close to the role.

By any metric every administration in the last generation has failed abysmally at one thing or another. I am not rallying around either party or President.

anyone with prior government experience
IDK seems to me if all the past administrations have failed, as you say; then finding people OUTSIDE government might not have been a reasonable idea. Pirro had a legal career before FOX. Hegseth had a military career before FOX. How many Defense Secretaries ever served, let alone led troops in combat. I could go on; but appointing another animal from the zoo isnt always the best idea, if you want to change the way the zoo is run

YES I would have preferred he dismantled the NFA branch or at least appointed a Pro Gun guy to run the ATF; but Im pretty happy with NO Tax. I would have preferred they opened up the Machine Gun registry; but then all the Dentists and Chiropractors that bought all the MGs not to shoot but for investments would cry.

I just think that a loyalty test isn't among the best metrics to use when hiring someone. That is the appearance of all of his hires.

And to my point about he had 4 years to think this out and make plans, well....it doesn't appear that he had any serious meetings to think out his choices and how they would mesh with the sitting Congress.

And just because Pete was in the military and Pirro had a legal career BEFORE joining the administration also does not mean they have the requisite experience to perform well in the role that they are appointed to be in. Time will tell.
So far at least Trump has aptly demonstrated that Congress is paralyzed with continuous distractions and not really capable of any legislating.

Civilians have been appointed as a Cabinet level position as Sec. of Defense since it was created after WWII ('47) to underscore the intent of civilian control of our military. About 75% of past Secretaries have had military experience (most with combat experience) prior to their appointment in a civilian capacity.

Hegseth did not have a career in the Army, he was in the National Guard, deployed to Afghanistan, a Platoon Leader. He had a spotty time in service, in and out of the Guard, was promoted to Major but he was never given a Command and did not serve beyond battalion levels in temporary positions.

He has been described by those he served with as "a loose cannon" "a drinking problem" "impulsive" "unfit for duty".

Secretaries since Weinberger have had military service except Sec. Carter, none worked in television, none had a reputation at the O Club for excessive drunkenness and none were as inept, clueless or in way over their head as boy wonder. If it weren't for career officers holding their noses and staying in, this country would be in serious disfunction militarily.

Well I would want a US Attorney to have Leeeegal experience....and having severed in the military, Id much rather have a boss thats seen the elephant, then a clerk.

As for loyalty, I wouldnt want to hire someone who wasnt...

Not arguing that they don't have experience.

But the loyalty metric - again, to me - appears to be more important, and that's fine.

Some weekends my quarterback doesn't get to play, and that's the coachers choice. You win some games; you lose some games. It's the nature of the game.

So I'll say it like this in the last century I worked for one of the BIG soda companies. A driver came into the lot drinking a can of soda from the OTHER brand. He was led off the lot less than a hour later. YES loyalty IS important. I cant imagine hiring someone in my company or administration that WASNT loyal

I think we all understand what she meant was carrying guns illegally, but she spoke inartfully. She clarified her statement later but the purveyors of outrage had already ignited the fires.
I've seen the interview taken out of context to, to be fair to her.

But nonetheless, best to not say things and to clarify a gaff. She had to do that after the fact. Not a good look, IMO.

Sounds like opposition research to me!

(To be clear, I am not trying to start an argument with you or antagonize you for your opinions.)

Inexperience in public life on a national political stage it's easy to embarrass yourself, others in your camp and your country. It's the difference between the pros and the armature actors.
