The right to express or practice one's faith ends at the nose of someone who doesn't want to practice that faith. Quiet prayer in public that doesn't interfere with the coming and going of daily life is fine by me. However, if there is someone or some group that upsets the normal hum of daily life or gets in my face to either force their beliefs on me or denigrate my beliefs then that's a problem.

Quebec has been the spoiled problem child of Canada for like…forever. They’ve been threatening to separate from Canada for decades. They should just go away already.

They're gonna have to define the limits as to they perceive 'prayer' to be.

Some people pray internally. Others lay on a prayer rug. Who's to say it's not meditation ?

I dont know all the laws of Canada, but I will say a peaceful assembly for prayer groups should be allowed if following all the laws.
Such as:
- did they request a permit for a large assembly if required.
-were they peaceful and not disruptive to daily commercial doings of the citizens
- did they not block entrances, exits or roadways, etc...

If any group follows city ordnances, then it should be allowed. If a group is using "prayer" or assembly to protest and not in a peaceful manner and is disruptive, then it should not be allowed.
My guess is the govt had enough of them using the prayer as a front for being disruptive and passing a law to stop it.
