I purchased this roasted maple neck to go onto an MJT one piece swamp Ash body finished in butterscotch blonde. However, after looking at it, I was beginning to wonder how my fender American performer telecaster would look with the roasted Maple neck on it too as you can see by the pictures it came with a rosewood neck, the roasted pine neck has a deep V profile which I much prefer and I think it does a better job of blending in with the colors on the body as opposed to the Rosewood .
Your thoughts?
I'm a huge fan of Telecasters. My favorite is my 2015 American Special with Texas Specials in it. I've never liked Rosewood boards on Teles for some reason. Although I do have a Rosewood fretboard on my '99 Carvin TL60 ( Tele copy) and I f'in love that guitar.View attachment 88658View attachment 88659View attachment 88660I’m in the process of assembling another telecaster. Bare Knuckles 52’s are also going in it.

It’s close to a tobacco burst but Fender calls these “Honeyburst”I love the twang of a Tele. The neck looks great. The body looks fabulous. I'm very partial to the "tobacco burst" finish which is close to what you have on the body without the darker edges.

I'm wondering if the whole package would be more pleasing to the eye with a different pick guard to act as a transition. Maybe one of the tortoise shell choices from WD Custom.

I'm partial to the first one, #05P

Or maybe a white pick guard? Maybe it's just me. Somehow the black pick guard does not compliment the two woods as a single unit. But what do I know? I'm just the bass player.
Thank you for your indulgence,
