Qualification time...

So it was time to qual. The range guy asked me what calibers to bring to cover what I was going to shoot. He did not think it was funny when I said, "All of them."

So anyway I did not break out a .45 or a .40. It all stayed in the .3's. 9mm, .357 mag and .380. I had to shoot my issued Glock 19, but I can now carry my CZ P-07, Taurus 605 and Ruger LCP Max. On the plus side I shot my 605 on the full carry course and not just the BUG course. And passed.

Out of 50 rounds I scored a 47 (Glock, two rounds not fired due to time, I'm still arguing that the other was a hit), 48 (CZ, two rounds not fired due to time), 44 (Taurus, this was actually out of 48 rounds. Some of the strings were modified for my 5 shot snubbie) and for the BUG course I had a lowly 17 out of 20. In my Max's defense I will say that I have never shot the hollow-point ammo issued to run the course and it did not like it. Have not had any issues with failure to feed with any ball ammo or with the Hornady Critical Defense rounds which, surprisingly is the ammo issued upon completion of the BUG course(?).

All in all a good night at the range. I have the duty gun, my carry gun and my snubbie loaded up with Honey Badgers and Critical Defense for my Ruger. Since I qual'ed on the primary carry course with my wheelie I may have to carry it from time to time. If nothing else for the stares.

Nice work, all the way around! Forgive my feeble memory. Is this to stay current with your pistols as a retired/active LEO? Do you work for a private security firm? Either way, congrats on your success. Having options is always a good thing.

I'm still on the job, well third job. Criminal Investigator. We can carry what we want (if the head range guy okays it) as long as we can qual with it.
