Range Day 7/14 Testing the KUNA...

Weather has been terrible here in South Florida for a week or so but finally got some time to go out to the range this morning.

I have taken my new Springfield KUNA to the indoor range already, just testing iron sights with it but today was finally my outdoor range with a purpose of finding which sight that I already have in my possession to use on the KUNA.

The purpose of this Kuna is for me to take it in my saddle bag on my motorcycle for self-defense at ranges between 15 to 30 yards. I carry my Hellcat Pro on my person for anything fast and close.

I wanted to use my unused ACOG just because it would be perfect for a motorcycle. Always on and ready and no batteries needed. BUT I do love my HOLOSON HE510C green dot. It's my favorite and I have one on my Sig MPX, my Springfield .308 AR pistol, my Springfield 5.56 AR pistol, and my DD M4 PDW. I love that sight, move and it turns on, always ready. BUT in a motorcycle the battery would drain due to constant movement. So, I feel the ACOG is the better choice for my need but not sure if the 1-4 is just too big for a PCC.

BUT first the local wildlife was out to mock me today. Just laying out in the sun watching me shoot. Such disrespect. lol

So anyway I tried the different sights and settles on my 2 favorites for reasons above. My ACOG or the HOLOSUN green dot... Thinking for my purpose will stick with the ACOG. What do you think? Agree, disagree? Not really feasible?

Well here is the link to the shooting, I tried to keep it short and sweet without to much filler. Lesson learned, probally shouldn't wear all black with a black gun. And didn't want my tri-pod shadow in the picture so moved it on the other side, but then the sun bled me out... lesson learned.

BONUS brought out my Sig MPX, the KUNA was supposed to replace the Sig for me, but now I'll just keep both. I hate goodbyes to good guns. lol

The 2 sights, not zero'd just placed on. Will zero when I decide which one to use.

The last 25 rounds in the KUNA, wanted to test rapid fire see if I had any jams or malfunctions. I didn't. This damn weapon system is great. straight and smooth. 15 yards all on target just a little more spread than I would want.

All and all the KUNA is a F'in awesome PCC so far. 800 rounds so far without issue, lockup, or malfunction. Which is what I would expect from Springfield. I have 20 Springfield guns and have never had a malfunction, double feed or anything. Why I like Springfield Armory guns.

Video attached.
Thanks for reading/watching.

Very nice report and video, I take it you didn’t have the issues with the extractor like some have reported, what about the mags cracking, just asking, I may be looking at one in the future

Hey @Magnum50!

Fun day at the range, even if it was warm. Thanks for sharing. Wow, those are nice tight groups even with no zero on those sights.

Are you a lefty? Or was your video reversed? Just curious if that Kuna offers any inconveniences for left-handed folks. Did I read it was full ambi? Mrs. BassCliff is a lefty and has some issues with certain firearms. She likes stuff that works for her, rather than train around any issues.

"Mosquitos as big as hummingbirds"... :ROFLMAO:

I spent part of my childhood in Louisiana so I know what you mean. ;)

Thank you for your indulgence,

BassCliff
