Hello ladies and gentlemen,
I made another quick trip to the range today after lunch with the old guys from church. It was good fellowship followed by good practice. Since I haven't cleaned these pistols yet, I brought them out again for one more round. I'll get them cleaned sometime this weekend so's I can take something different next time and get something else all dirty. I went to the newer facility today. I needed a change of scenery.
Now I wish I'd gone to the older facility, only because this one was closing early for an event. But I had a little over an hour, plenty of time to do some damage. I took a picture of the class offerings in May. I'll try to fit something into my schedule.
I was given lane #6, my favorite. It was a little busy today. This is a 25 yard facility with 12 lanes. At one time while I was there, most of them were full.
Since I didn't have a lot of time I kept my course of action fairly simple. For the three semi-autos I loaded five mags with 10 shots each. Then I transitioned bullseyes after each mag drop and reload. First up was the Mod.3 and Holosun, starting with the center, then clockwise from upper left.
Just a couple hits out of the black parts here and there. Not bad (for me) as I rush through five magazines. Next I did the same thing with the Echelon 4.5F Comp w/Holosun.
The center bullseye started off a little low/left, then it got better, then it got worse again.
Here ya go, just in case you've forgotten what my optic pistols look like.
Next up was my main EDC, the VP9. I shot this sequence with iron sights and without my special corrective shooting lenses. I don't need special lenses for the optics and I didn't feel like swapping out the lenses on my glasses, so I did it "blind".
I thought that was not too shabby, considering the sight picture and targets were a blurry mess. But hey, it's not like I can tell the bad guy, "Hold on a minute while I put on my special shooting lenses". Ya know?
Last up was the 686 Plus on my favorite target. I put three (7 round) cylinders on the center and one cylinder on each of the upper right and left bullseyes. Yeah, I didn't do so well with the upper corners. I didn't want to hit my target hanger and ended up shooting a little low. Bleh.
Dang! But this gun is fun to shoot. For no special reason, here's a picture.
Yeah, kinda sexy with her cylinder open.
I wanted to get out of there on time so I didn't even finish that box of .357 Magnum. I'll save it for next time.
I hope all you folks have a great weekend. I've got a duo performance in the morning but nothing else planned for the rest of the weekend. Maybe I'll go with Mrs. BassCliff to the local farmer's market. That sounds like fun. Sort of.
Thank you for your indulgence,
BassCliff
