Range Report: A Nice Visit, 7/23/26

Hey there,

You might've noticed in another thread that Mrs. BassCliff and I are visiting friends in the DC area. Today Greg and I visited a new range for both of us, the Green Top Shooting Range in Ashville.

It was a clean, modern facility.

The show room had lots of nice toys in it.

We signed our waivers and got my new favorite lane; bay 2, lane 14.

We took turns pounding the targets, just having fun. This is Greg's backside.

We started with the 44 magnum Anaconda, 8" barrel. Fun!

We took turns going through cylinders. I tried putting a couple of cylinders on the head. I think I need more practice with this beast.

We took turns with Greg's 10mm Ronin, PSA Dagger, and Glock 19X with a Timney trigger. I'd never heard of Timney, but it was a nice trigger.

We pounded on another target, having too much fun.

My head shots were going wide left. We shoot at mostly 10 yards today. I decided to get serious with one magazine from the 10mm Ronin. I'm considering a 10mm for my next addition. Maybe this one, maybe an XDM Elite, maybe a Hi-Point.

I'll be back in the next post to finish up.

Thank you for your indulgence,

I have used Timney triggers years ago on my rifles, good stuff

Hi,

To continue...

I did a little better putting nine hits on the head with the Ronin 10mm. (Line breaks, please!)

Greg had brought along some Venom 9mm. It's cheap ammo but worked just fine. We also used Blazer Brass 9mm. The 10mm was from Ammo Bros.

At the end of the day our last target looked like this.

We said our goodbyes, got some lunch, and went to a couple of gun stores to do some window shopping for 10mm. I think you know this store.

This other local store was huge.

Too bad I couldn't buy anything. It would be difficult to take it home on the plane. But us two old farts had our fun today. Thanks for coming along.

Thank you for your indulgence,

BassCliff
