Hello boys and girls!
My son-in-law is out of town. My wife is out of town. What to do? I know! I'll go to the range with daughter! Woot! While the grandkids are in school, daughter meets me at the range and we have some fun. She brings her cute little Sig P238 and I brought the XD45 Mod.2 Tactical (5"), XDM Elite Precision (5.25"), and H&K VP9 (4.09"). I'm kind of glad she did not bring her husband's G17.
We'll put 50 rounds through the XD45 later after we shoot 150 rounds of 9mm. I picked up a box of .380 for the little Sig. It's soooo cuuuute! Here she is sending lead downrange. We couldn't get my favorite or my second favorite lane. We settled for lane #3. We'll be shooting at 10 yards for his whole session.
It's been a while since daughter has practiced. It took her a bit to get things dialed in to "combat accuracy". You noticed I stuck a couple of 4" circles onto that silhouette. I tried a 10-shot string at the head with the VP9.
Drat, I let a couple get low. Still, good enough for a glam shot.
Daughter also tried all of the pistols I brought. She liked the VP9. I think she would've liked it better with smaller grip panels. Next time. Here she is enjoying the XDM Elite.
I got to show off a little with my VP9. One of these days I'll get all ten hits in the 10 ring.
For my last 10 rounds through the VP9 I brought out the reactive 12x18 silhouettes. These are always fun to shoot.
Drat, I let just a couple get outside the 10 ring on this target. (Line break!)
I was proud of daughter that she was able to put 10 hits inside the 8" target at 10 yards with my XD45.
I put up a fresh target for my last 10 rounds through the XD45. Not too bad for this old noob, I guess.
I still haven't zeroed the TLR-6 laser on this pistol. One of these days. Otherwise I love the way this one shoots. Oh, I did try the Sig P238. It just reinforced my dislike for barrels less than 4".
And that was it. Two hundred and fifty rounds goes quickly when you're having fun. I'm planning to bring pizza over on Friday so I can hang out with the grandkids. Life is good.
Thank you for your indulgence,
BassCliff
