Range Report: VP9+Echelon 4.5 Comp, 5/28/25

Hi,

Tried out the new range today. Planned to shoot my SA1911AOS 45 w/new Holosun EPS 6moa green dot and Sig P-365 fuse w/Sig Romeo X Enclosed compact 6moa red dot. Due to a large brain fart was unable to shoot the Sig. Did fairly good with the SA at 10 yards.View attachment 84557

Yeah! That's the kind of group I'm going for. One of these days. Nice job on that target. It gives me something to strive for. ;)

Hi,

Great writeup brother! I especially enjoyed seeing that new range. The target distance tech they use there is far more advanced than my local range. As a matter of fact, I'd say 4 out of 5 stalls at my local range back up 0.5 meters when you send the target out. You'll hit the button and set it at 15 for example and then it'll move back on ya to 14.5, so I end up just running it at 15.5 when that happens haha.

Also, I'm gonna need to know where you are located so we can link up when the zombies arrive haha. That's a ton of ammo. XD

Thank you. My membership gives me access to a couple of facilities, one very old school, and the other newer facility with a brand new computerized target carrier system. It's pretty slick. I haven't tried to program any scenarios yet, but it has the capability.

I've noticed that the target carriers at the newer range may need to be calibrated again. If you just hit the button that says "30 feet", it will actually move out to 29 feet, according to the display. So I normally hit the "Custom" button and punch in '31 feet' or '46 feet' so that I get exactly (I hope) 10 yards or 15 yards. At the older facility you sort of have to guess when moving the analog carriers and line the target up with the painted distances on the wall. But I don't mind. It's charming, in a vintage sort of way.

I hope that's enough ammo for when the zombies get here. ;)

Thank you for your indulgence,

BassCliff
